Nursing

“The profession of nursing as more than just a career or a means to financial goals. Through the biblical foundation we acknowledge, we work within the body of Christ for our patients, families, and coworkers.”(Journal of Christian Nursing, Vol.27, Issue4-Pg. 285)

Granted, some nurses are only in the profession for the paycheck, but you can always tell those nurses from the ones who are truly in the profession for others. They are the ones who go out of their way to make sure everything is going well even when things are crazy busy. They are the ones who truly make nursing a blessing on everyone around them.

Nursing is fundamentally far more than just a salary or healing someone; it is about the compassion, courage, and kindness shown to patients as a reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Buttons

In my recent history, I have found many strange and wonderful items during what I call "dumpster-diving" (In reality, I am actually cleaning out storage units of other people's forcibly abandoned junk).
Among the better finds were:
a tin box of buttons, gel candles, Fiesta ware, real bone china, a puppet Piglet, cigarette coupons from 40+ years ago, and an old milkshake glass. And, as the crowning glory, a thick glass mixer.
Perfect.
The "not-so-perfect things" I will spare you the terror of reading, and save my screen from melting.
But, for the record, I love buttons. A veritable gold-mine was found.
And you are jealous.
Admit it.

Thunder

The thunder rumbles ominously outside. It has the deepest voice. The bass of the sky opera house. The lightening provides the backdrop, the rain provides the curtain. Cymbals clash, the mountains roar. The earth is renewed once again, fresh, clean.~

The Bee's & Birds

So just how do the bee's and birds not hit you when they fly by? And how do they not smash into trees when they swoop into the branches and amazingly miss the leaves without even making them move?
And you though that this post was on something else entirely...
It all just makes me wonder and scratch my head. God really is amazing. He really is. All that grass I pulled, tore and cut out of all the bushes today, and all the little teeny tiny weeds that I pulled from the sweet smelling earth are all there for a reason. Even if it is only to make me sweat. It all has a purpose. He is incredible in and through everything. That dirt under my fingernails reminds me. So go sit in the dirt. Draw something. Anything. It doesn't matter. The rain will come again, and you will have to go and pull some more weeds. But you have to admit that it is satisfying.
